I never have been all that good at staying in touch. I've just been quietly going about things. The day-to-day, you know how it is. Working up songs for another release. (Blurring in the Corner of Your Eye, by the way, is still very much available in CD and digital format. Check out the Blurring page for purchase links, if you're interested.) I haven't been able to draw a bead on the general theme or timbre of the lyrics quite yet. But if Blurring was a chronicle of a rocky past decade or so of my life, these new songs are reflections of here and now. Some attempt to stay present in this moment, while that other life that could have been keeps fading and growing more distant with time. Life's leaves are turning color. There's no mistaking it now.
I hear more guitars, more dynamics in these upcoming recordings. My guitars have been sounding pretty damn good nowadays, so I'd like to let them stretch out and show a little bit more of their sonic range. We'll see how it all shakes out. And once again, I'll try to be a little more frequent with my posts. We'll see how that shakes out, too. Otherwise... Same time next year?
